My Favorite Swing Thought for More Power
⛳️ Bigger turn, better coil, better shots.
Create Space, Create Power: My Favorite Swing Thought
One of my favorite swing thoughts is simple but powerful. I like to think about creating as much space as possible between my left hand and my left foot.
Let’s dive in 👇
✅ At setup, I circle my left hand and my left foot in my mind.
✅ As I swing back, I focus on stretching that space.
✅ The more distance I create, the bigger my shoulder turn becomes.
When you do this, you’ll notice something important:
The right shoulder (blue dot) and left shoulder (red dot) create a bigger-than-90° shoulder turn.
That bigger wind-up gives you more potential to unwind with speed and control.

It’s a simple way to think about winding up your body for maximum coil, without overcomplicating the swing. After you’re warm and loose, it’s a great thought to carry into your round:
👉 Left hand as far away from left foot as possible.
That stretch leads to a full shoulder turn, and a full shoulder turn leads to better shots.
